Citing books with one author<\/h3>\n

When citing a book or source with a single author, students are required to invert author names (last name provided first) and write the first name as an initial.<\/p>\n

For example, the reference list entry for a source written by David Ricardo would begin with \u201cRicardo, D.\u201d and one for a piece written by Karl Marx would begin with \u201cMarx, K.\u201d<\/p>\n

After proving the author\u2019s name, students are required to display the following:<\/p>\n

  1. Year of publication (in brackets)<\/li>\n
  2. Title (in italics)<\/li>\n
  3. Edition (in brackets)<\/li>\n
  4. City and\/or state\/country<\/li>\n
  5. Publisher<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Overall, a reference entry should appear as follows:<\/p>\n

    Last name, initial. (Year published).\u00a0Title<\/em> (Edition). City published: Publisher.<\/p>\n
